Be in The Know

The world needs another matchmaking app like it needs another Final Destination movie. Our collective heads are spinning with all of the options—Tinder, Hinge, Bumble, OkCupid, etc. Fortunately, The Know won't tell you who to date...it will tell you who not to date and ultimately make you a happier person.

We're shifting dating paradigm and as such, we expect there will be plenty of questions. We've tried our best to answer the most common ones below but feel free to contact us help@datesmarter.net.

What is The Know?

The Know is an anonymous social network that connect people who are romantically involved with or interested in the same person. Our mission is to create a safe community for the exchange of important information that will help people date smarter and avoid the wrong relationships, wasted time and emotional thrashing.

Why do I have to log in through Facebook?

All users must have a Facebook account so that we can validate your identity. Don't worry, we will never post anything to your timeline and we will not contact or solicit to your friends.

So, how does The Know work?

It’s brilliantly simple. Users enter profiles describing their current partner or someone they might be interested in. This creates a pool of searchable relationships inside The Know. We then compare these profiles against each other to identify matches. If there is a match, we notify both users and allow them to communicate with each other (provided that they both consent).

That's cool... is it free?

For the most part, yes. However, certain advanced functionality within the service may require credits which can be purchased in-app.

Can I message other users?

Absolutely, but only users who have entered partner profiles that match yours—and who have not opted out of the chat/messages feature on their account. The Know is not an open social network. We’re about connecting folks who have a mutual relationship with or interest in a common person.

How private is the app?

Extremely. Your privacy is of utmost importance to us. Only your username is exposed to other The Know users—and only if you have a matching partner. If you want to be anonymous, you can hide your username and go as “Anonymous” by choosing that option within Settings. If you really want to fly under the radar, within Settings, you can also disable chat with other users. Keep in mind, however, that this may prevent you from gathering valuable intelligence about your partner(s).

None of my partners have any matches...

Well, that’s a good thing, right? :) To get the most from The Know, fill out as much information about your partner as possible. Remember, while you may have his or her mobile #, someone else may only have their name and physical description—so, inputting more info will increase your chances of finding a match.

Also, refer your friends. It’s like Facebook; the more people in your network that use the service, the more valuable it becomes.

What color was "the dress"?

It was blue and black folks—blue and black.
