3. What Information We Collect
The information we collect can be categorized in two main ways, “Non-Personal Information” and “Personal Information”.
Non-Personally Identifiable Information
Non-Personally Identifiable Information can include information that cannot be used to personally identify you, such as the type of browser you use, the website you came from (known as the “referring URL”), clickstream data, and the type of device from which you connected to the Service. We track this information using both persistent and session cookies, or small text files which include anonymous unique identifiers. Tracking and recording Non-Personal Information both on an individual and aggregate basis helps us improve the quality of the Service, features, and content. This information enables us to analyze trends, understand demographics, and administer the app.
Personal Information can include things like your name or email as well as other information you or another user provided when they registered, created, or searched an account.
4. How We Use and Share Information
We will retain your information for as long as necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. We reserve the right to disclose any of your information as required by law and when we believe that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights and/or comply with a judicial proceeding, court order, or legal process.
5. How We Protect Information
We implement security measures designed to protect your Non-Personal and Personal Information from unauthorized access. Your account is protected by your account password.
We further protect your information from potential security breaches by implementing certain technological security measures including encryption, firewalls and secure socket layer technology. However, these measures do not guarantee that your information will not be accessed, disclosed, altered or destroyed by breach of such firewalls and other technological security measures.
By using our Service, you acknowledge that you understand and agree to assume these risks. We will in no way be responsible or liable to you for any data breach by us or any affiliate or third party.
6. How You Can Protect Your Information
We urge you to take steps to keep your log-in credentials safe by not disclosing your password and by logging out of your account after each use.
Please keep in mind that whenever you voluntarily disclose information to another The Know user either on our Site, App, or through direct communication (for example on chat boards, or phone calls) that information can be collected and used by others. The Know is not responsible for any information you directly and voluntarily disclose to another The Know user.
The information we collect from you linking your Facebook (or other social media or website) account to your The Know account, often depends on the privacy settings you have enabled on those sites, so be sure to regularly check and update the linking sites and understand we are not responsible for those privacy policies.
